Story 207
Mina wrung her hands, her long fish tail swaying nervously behind her. The waters of the wide Jewel river flowed round her. Normally comfortable and familiar, they were disturbed now by the flow emerging out from the smaller tributary river she was gazing into with apprehension. The proximity of the silvery-blue, unsettling Miragia Forest did little to calm her, either.
She blew bubbles, and sunk down deeper below the surface, eyeing the unfamiliar Shard river in front of her. She didn’t like it. She wasn’t quite sure why, but she didn’t like it.
Actually, she did have a fairly good idea why she didn’t like it. For one thing, she had never been up it. Which meant it was unfamiliar territory; which meant, in turn, that there could be just about anything upstream, lurking around to take a bite out of her – or swallow her whole. For another, it was narrower and shallower than she was used to, with fewer places to hide if she encountered a threat

After 2 years, 9 months, and 5 days, Avatar: the Legend of Korra has ended. 52 episodes and for the Avatar Franchise as a whole 113, A 113 :) one might say.
I can rightfully claim as far as my 20 year old memory can to have seen every single episodes premier, the only series I have done such a thing with. I would have watched it on TV more often if it had been broadcasted outside of those premiers.

Now that it is over I feel saddened that the adventures of Korra, Mako, Bolin, and all of the others have ended. I am happy with how the series ended, NO SPOILERS, and I for one see this series as a sign of how animated TV series are become a respected medium in American/World broadcasting. Some of these things would not have been acceptable on anything less than adult oriented series just a few decades ago. As a person who dreams of becoming a famous storyteller before I die all I can say is that the creators of the Avatar verse are geniuses and masters of cartoons.

One thing is still left on my mind and it is this. Will there be a sequel? Not because of a unresolved plot thread or just to see more action scenes but just for the sheer world that has been created. The Avatar Cycle goes in the order of Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. We have had Air (Aang) and Water (Korra) but have not yet completed a single circuit of the Avatar Cycle. Only when the next 2 Avatars have had their stories told will I really be able to tell myself that its over.

Considering that it took 4 years from 1 series to the next I am willing to wait another years hoping for word to reach my that work is being done on a new series. It has enough popularity to warrant it as far as I am concerened. Examples like Futurama show that it can be done, so I believe in my heat that this is the end of Korra's story, but not the end of the Avatar's.

Thoughts on this or if you guys want to hear my ideas on what the next avatars should be like?
